Safety
Safety is at the forefront of all 3D/4D ultrasound scans at Filmstar Baby. 2D ultrasound has been used for the last 30 years in Obstetrics and is considered to be the only safe method of viewing the foetus. The study of ultrasound safety is continually reviewed and it is our policy to closely monitor this issue. All our sonographers work within the guidelines as laid down by the British Medical Ultrasound Society (BMUS) and our clinic policies and protocols mirror this. The ultrasound output of our 3D/4D scanning equipment does not exceed that of a conventional 2D machine used in hospitals and we keep scanning time to a minimum. 3D/4D scans are optional, self-referral scans, and we accept that they are not for everyone. Clarion Health's staff are fully vetted, verified and CRB checked and all policies and protocols relating to scanning are continually updated according to all good practice guidelines and safety standards issued by BMUS.
